Position Description:

MCN Solutions, LLC has an exciting opportunity in our IT Department. We are seeking a Configuration Management Specialist III to join our growing team and support our Web Design, Interactive Media, and Digital Communication Services Venture. You must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, be detail oriented, able to work in a team environment and independently. You will:

 Provides configuration management planning.  

 Describes provisions for configuration identification, change control, configuration status accounting, and configuration audits.  

 Regulates the change process so that only approved and validated changes are incorporated into product documents and related software.  

 Develops and maintains account/region standards and procedures to ensure that configuration management controls are capable of supporting deployment activities and implementations to meet business needs. 

 Interprets configuration management activities and tools as defined for the account and applies them to project activities. 

 Works with the project manager to develop configuration management plans, milestones, and schedules for projects. Revises and assists in implementing new strategies as appropriate. 

 Decomposes configuration items into appropriate configuration units for the specific projects or tasks. Identifies problem issues and recommends solutions as appropriate. 

 Ensures version control integrity for software and non-software components by reviewing account requirements. Establishes approach for resolving discrepancies to ensure requirements are met. 

 Performs audits for projects or accounts according to the configuration management plans. Ensures baselines are established and approved by the appropriate control board. 

 Develops initial technical installation guidelines and other documentation of hardware and software standards to facilitate tracking. 

 Assists customers and support personnel in understanding product configuration. 

 Assists lead personnel for assigned accounts/regions. 

 Provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel.

 Provides technical support for environment and tools and procedures for release installations and "shakeout" of installation issues.

 Will report to Project Manager.

 Monthly travel to client location is required.

Skills Requirements:

Required Skills:

 Candidate should have a minimum of 8 years or more experience of Configuration Management Analysis.

 Experience working with distributed computer systems, software and associated communication networks 

 Experience working with networking principles and local area networks 

 Experience working with company software and hardware products

 Knowledge of Section 508 compliance.

 Experience using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Publisher, SharePoint, Access, Visio and Lync.

 Both traditional CM practices and Agile-SOA based CM practices will be needed.

 Demonstrated ability to work independently or under only general direction. 

 Good skills in configuring and installing various operating systems and application software.

 Good communication skills to interact with team members, customers, and support personnel. 

 Good analytical and problem solving skills to resolve technological problems. 

 Basic project management skills.

 Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

 Monthly travel to client location is required.

Desired Skills:

 Experience using Screen Reader Software.

 Dimensions experience a PLUS.

 Leadership skills to instruct and mentor less experienced personnel 

 Bachelor's degree in business administration, management information systems, or related field preferred.

Education:

Position requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and 8 years of experience in the field or in a related area or 12 years of experience in the field in lieu of degree.
